What is A Marriage and Family Therapist Intern?
MFT Interns are registered with the state of California and hold a master's degree in psychology. Similar to licensed MFTs, they are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals, couples, families and groups. Interns work in close association with a qualified licensed MFT supervisor and are in the process of gaining a minimum of 3,000 hours of supervised professional experience along with a minimum of 104 weeks of supervision to qualify for MFT licensure. FAMILY PHASES INTERNS are carefully selected to be a part of the organization based upon specific skills and competencies. An intern's fee is based on a sliding scale basis depending upon the individual client's income level.
